"A man who has never gone to school may steal from a freight car; but if he has a university education he may steal the whole railroad." -Theodore Roosevelt.

HISTORY

In 1991, after facing a layoff and unable to find work, although highly skilled, B. Alexander Ingram found himself in a state where he was unable to break into the technology field because he did not have many years of experience in the industry. He found himself working as a temporary with companies such as UPS and the California Credit Union League. After proving himself by developing needed technology solutions for both of these large firms, he realized that without a break and the necessary skills in computers, people could find themselves out of work and unable to get into one of the most promising fields around. With those thoughts in mind he shared a vision with his wife, Mona Lisa, about an organization that would champion the needs of the poor, disadvantaged and unskilled through educational and economic programs in technology.

Over the years to come, he would share this vision with various leaders and work with many faith-based organizations; some of which were only interested in dealing with the social needs of people and not the economic, but he assisted others to establish some substantial programs that provided for the whole man, such as:

  • Fountain Of Love Community Development Center - (6) Housing Units four for low income families and two for transitional Housing;
  • Disabled Veterans of California - Converted a local multi-unit housing development for a Veteran's Housing Program; and
  • Hope Ministries - delivered job and employment training programs to the unskilled worker and others

in instituting programs that would deliver training, job placement and housing assistance to those in need, from Disabled Veteran's to the Homeless. B.A. Ingram realized that we needed to move people to self-sufficiency and not just sustenance, therefore, the dream of this organization began to grow into a business plan and that plan begin to manifest through traveling and teaching workshops.

In 1999, The School for Economic & Educational Development (S.E.E.D.©), Inc., was formed to solve the problem of homelessness, resulting from joblessness and  lack of educational opportunities in our community. B.A. Ingram believed that through extensive training, education and personal development participants would learn through on-the-job training programs in their true form, (classroom lecturing, practice evaluations, and hands-on adaptability), they would be able to provide for their human needs.

In 2002, the concept of this organization was incorporated and granted its recognition as a non-profit 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization and became the parent corporation for a multi-faced organism know in part of the greater vision of S.E.E.D.©, Inc. With an organization of such great magnitude and purpose over the years our efforts to address the trichotomy of man (spirit [the life], soul [the work] and body [the will]) and to help him develop fully, it has become necessary to enlarge and focus on areas of specialty.

Additionally in late 2006 and the beginning of 2007, S.E.E.D.©, Inc., established several universities and job training program subsidiaries to work with local government, community organizations and soon national entities to address areas to  eradicate homelessness and the lack of educational opportunities.
